Jesica Rodriguez joined the County of Marin Health and Human Services in the winter of 2021. She was hired as the Food Security Program Coordinator within the Nutrition & Wellness Program in the Community Health & Prevention branch of Public Health. She was raised in Shasta County, and grew up with a love of rural and wild spaces. Jesica is an alumnus of Sonoma State University and holds a degree in Environmental Studies and City Planning, with an emphasis in Conservation and Restoration.
Her many passions include outdoor activities, such as land tending and spending time outside with others. As a conservationist she hopes to connect others to the beauty and power of the natural elements, while also providing for the greater than human community.
She is committed to supporting community health and wellness through advocacy, education, and community building efforts. As a daughter of immigrants, she strives to honor the many hands that build and feed our communities (both locally and globally) by upholding practices that enhance racial equity and overall improve the human experience. She is a firm advocate of place-based solutions; and hopes to continue utilizing and uplifting the knowledge of each distinct community to implement long lasting change.
