Resolution Declaring May as CalFresh Awareness Month Adopted
Marin County Board of Superviors adopted a resolution proclaiming May as CalFresh Awareness Month on May 21, 2019. D’Angelo Paillet, Calfresh Program Manager presented to the board, highlighting the CalFresh Expansion to SSII/SSP clients and ongoing collaboration within the CalFresh Taskforce and community partners. In addition, the County of Marin sent out a press release regarding the CalFresh Expansion.
CalFresh Community Forum a Success
The CalFresh Taskforce hosted a successful community forum on April 15, 2019 where information about the CalFresh Expansion to SSI recipients was shared. Community Partners had the opportunity to learn about the the CalFresh Program, the implementation plan in Marin County and engage in an open discussion about what can be done collectively to make the expansion a smooth transition for the community. CalFresh Taskforce and Outreach co-chairs, Alex Danino and Paula Freeman, highlighted the goals, strategies, and efforts to help partners and clients navigate and enroll in the program. Outreach materials for the CalFresh Expansion to SSI recipients were developed and distributed to partners at the forum.
